Courtney Walsh

Courtney Walsh

Courtney Walsh is a Master Porsche Technician with over twenty years of factory experience servicing fine european automobiles. Courtney began his history with Porsche in 1987 with Downtown Fine Cars. While there he also participated in the Rothmans Porsche turbo cup series with drivers Richard Spenard and Dave Empringham where they won 2 championships together. After that series folded, he worked a season with Canaska Racing in the Firehawk series where the team won the 24 hour race at Mosport that year.

In 1993 Courtney moved to Pfaff Porsche and took some time off from racing to return in 1998 with Fiorano Motorsports in the Motorolla and Grand- am cup series. Courtney's focus was on mastering suspension tuning during this time. 

Professionally, Courtney was reacquired by Downtown Fine Cars where he honed his technical skills achieving his Porsche Master Technician status in 2002. The highlight of his racing career came in 2004, where in combination with Doncaster Racing, they won the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona . That same year Courtney successfully opened E.U. Autowerks.

Domenic Galati

Domenic Galati

Domenic Galati started in the automotive business in 1999. After working in the parts dept at a local dealer, he realized he had a passion for automobiles and customer service. Honing his skills as a parts rep and being the great communicator he is, Domenic made the big jump to Porsche very early in his automotive career as a service advisor for Downtown Fine Cars. From 2000 to 2003, Domenic learned as much as he could about the business and also became certified for Porsche aftersales. In 2003, Domenic decided to test the waters by leaving Downtown and working for a Porsche independent shop working as a shop manager for G-tek Automotive, further honing his skills but in a different environment.

In 2005 Domenic decided to give Downtown Porsche a try again at their new Porsche facility where they were in need of a workshop manager. In 2006 Domenic joined the team at E.U. Autowerks where his communication and managing skills have been an a great asset to the growth of Autowerks since 2006.

Lawrence Man

Lawrence Man

Lawrence Man has been in the automotive business since 1997 and has been a licensed automotive technician since 2000. Lawrence began his automotive career working with two of the best automotive fabricators in the business at Canadian Pragmatics. After working for a few years with Terry Cleland and Jay Lloyds, Lawrence went to work for the infamous Ludwig Heimrath at Heimrath Porsche for a short stint where he performed day to day service work and was still exposed to race cars doing some prep work. In late 2000, Lawrence began working for Fiorano Racing with Giovanni Panico, preparing race cars and learning the fine art of suspension set up. Lawrence stayed with Fiorano until summer of 2004 where he joined the team at Autowerks. 

After joining Autowerks, Lawrence continued to shine where his ability to absorb information and with his dedication to the job at hand, Lawrence has become the complete all round technician with his great abilities to fabricate, problem solve, suspensions set up and daily servicing. Lawrence has also become a big part of the team at Autowerks and their growth. Lawrence also adds to his wealth of knowledge by adding training certificates with Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and CFC/HCFC/HFC Air conditioning with further courses to come.

Steve Krawchuk

Steve Krawchuk

Steve has had his vehicles serviced by Courtney himself since 1986, back when Courtney worked at Queensway Volkswagen. Steve and Courtney's longstanding relationship led to Steve working alongside Courtney in 2004 when Autowerks first opened. Steve took a hiatus from working for Autowerks and instead became one of Autowerks' dedicated customers up until he rejoined our team again in 2008. His friendly manner and impeccable attention to detail contribute to Autowerks' renowned reputation. Steve does everything from tracking down parts to providing Autowerks with its very own valet service for customers.

It is evident Steve has had a passion for cars his whole life. He takes pride in his 1995 Porsche 993, which was recommended to him for purchase by Courtney himself. Previously owned by another customer of Autowerks, Steve's 993 has been raced at Mosport after being chipped and upgraded with racing brakes, a front upper stabilizer brace and MO30 suspension.

Cristine Rote

Cristine Rote

Cristine first joined Autowerks in 2006. As a University student in Ottawa, she returns to Autowerks during the summers and in between semesters. While she is not in school for automobiles, she has had a longstanding passion for cars every since she worked part-time in her father's auto body shop beginning at the age of 12. Cristine has become a critical part of Autowerks' infrastructure, doing everything from managing accounts, to helping customers, moderating the website, and keeping Courtney and Domenic on their toes. Cristine continues to return to Autowerks whenever she has a break from her studies. 

Ryan Zanini

Ryan Zanini

Ryan is the newest member of the EU Autowerks team. Ryan began his automotive career detailing part time at a local Lotus dealership. He was awarded an extraordinary achievement award for his contributions to his automotive Co-op program and then completed Centennial College's Automotive Technician program. Ryan has worked with Volkswagen as a Parts Advisor and then as a Service Advisor, shortly before becoming a Parts Advisor for Porsche. He is well known and respected in the industry for his enthusiasm, knowledge, and excellent customer service. Ryan's increasing interest in the performance aspect of cars had him searching for more experience away from the dealership environment. Ryan joined Autowerks in March of 2011 and has since become an integral part of our team. 

Ryan's growing interest in the racing scene contributed to his decision to join Autowerks. Whether it's recommendations on upgrades for your vehicle or simply chatting about last weekend’s race, Ryan is always eager to discuss issues that pertain to Autowerks' new endeavor, Autowerks Racing & Development. Ryan owns his own Volkswagen GTI and continues to modify and maintain it in attempt to have it keep up with Porsche's on the track.

Samantha Harry

Samantha Harry

Samantha joined Autowerks towards the end of the summer in 2010. The continuing rise in customers led us to seek additional year-round administrative support. Samantha fit right in and has grown to be a valuable asset of the Autowerks team by providing excellent customer service, booking appointments, and by keeping our accounts and daily business projects in order. Samantha expressed interest in working at Autowerks after having worked with her father in the car industry growing up.

Blake Ziltener

Blake Ziltener

Unsure what career path he was geared for, Blake stumbled upon the automotive service industry by fluke. Being the only tradesperson in his family, Blake proved to possess impeccable auto mechanical knowledge with the ability to execute that knowledge hands-on. Blake began his career as a technician in 2004, specializing at local Volkswagen and Audi repair shops. After acquiring Volkwagen certified expert status and becoming Audi certified, Blake sought out his next move.

Longing for more challenging work on high-end vehicles, Blake worked at a Porsche repair shop for a year. He yearned for the opportunity to work on a broader range of high-end vehicles. Autowerks offered him exactly that in 2008, allowing him to perfect his skills on everything from Porsche's to Maserati's to Lotus'.

Blake also takes pride in his very own European vehicle, a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit.

Al Mawji

Al Mawji

Al's passion for high-end cars runs in his family. As a child Al was first introduced to the mechanical workings of cars by his grandfather, an automobile technician. He became particularily drawn to European automobiles as his father had worked for Porsche and Audi shops for more than a decade. Al's personal relationship with the automotive industry began as an apprenticeship at a local Porsche shop. His career as an automotive technician grew as he refinined his skills through obtaining experience everywhere from high-end dealership repair shops to race-prepping at Mosport. He became a certified automotive technician in 2006. Al joined Autowerks in 2009, reuniting with his longtime friend Domenic and inspirational mentor, Courtney.

 

Raimondo Bonanno

Raimondo Bonanno

Ray discovered his passion for cars at a young age; taking apart and reassembling motorcycles as a hobby. As he honed in on his mechanical skills he realized he was most drawn to the complexity of automobiles. Ray was only 16 when he began working as an apprentice mechanic on everything from domestic cars to transport trucks, and it was obvious he was a natural. Constantly seeking a challenge, Ray was drawn to the complex mechanics of European engineering. Ray joined the Autowerks team in 2009. Over the past year Ray has proven his worth as a valuable automotive service technician. He takes periodic hiatus' from Autowerks to fulfill his schooling requirements in order to become a certified technician at Centennial College. Ray is yet another example of the drive of innovative youth; displaying excellent aptitude when confronted with an automotive problem and always eager to learn more.

 

Levi Newton

Levi Newton

The automotive trade is a big part of Levi's family. As a child Levi watched his late grandfather repair cars out of his own garage while his uncle enthusiastically worked with dune buggies. When he was old enough to get involved, Levi found he had a strong mechanical sense and enjoyed getting his hands dirty with any job that came his way. At 16, he purchased his first car and started on his career path in the automotive industry working at multiple shops and gaining valuable experience in all levels of the trade. Levi recently completed a pre-apprenticeship program with the Canadian Automotive and Trucking Institute and is continuing his education at Centennial College with the end goal of becoming a fully licenced technician. His continuing education has provided him with the knowledge and tools of the trade and has allowed him to apply such theories to practice in completing many complex jobs here at Autowerks with great care and accuracy.

Levi started at Autowerks in the late spring of 2011. Constantly inspired by the quality and engineering of the vehicles he works on, Levi's passion continues to grow and his hope is to one day be able to work on his own Porsche GT3 RS.  

Filippo Marcellino

Filippo Marcellino

As with all our technicians here at Autowerks, Filippo grew up with a strong passion for cars. From playing with toy cars as a toddler to working on his own cars as a teenager, Filippo always had a strong interest in everything to do with cars. Filippo's passion grew as a result of will and hard work as he is the only member of his family involved in the automotive industry. Having accumulated a large amount of experience already, Filippo is currently in the midst of completing his automotive apprenticeship and is continuing his education at Centennial College to become a fully licensed technician.

Filippo joined the Autowerks team in summer of 2011; he was drawn to Autowerks because of his particular interest in European vehicles. Filippo has a self-stated obsession with Volkswagen's and maintains his 1992 Jetta with impeccable care. Filippo has excellent problem solving skills and is always up to a challenge, working on vehicles with the utmost care and attention. We are glad he has become an integral part of our family.
